A Valdosta woman was arrested Sunday night after a resident on Pine Needle Drive noticed her looking through mailboxes. The witness called 911 and provided a description of the vehicle. The responding deputies located and stopped the vehicle, according to Sheriff Chris Prine of the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.
Tracey Mobley was stopped and interviewed by deputies. She stated that she was lost and was checking mailboxes to find out where she was. A search of the vehicle resulted in 60 pieces of mail.
Mobley was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
According to Sheriff Prine, this investigation is continuing as investigators work to contact the additional victims who are missing mail and determine what Mobley intended to do with the information gained from the mail.
Investigators from the Sheriff's Office have also contacted the Postal Inspectors and are working closely together.
