Alabama wins CFP championship game
After overcoming a 13-point deficit, Alabama defeats Georgia with an overtime touchdown to win the national championship, 26-23.
Georgia and Alabama showed up for battle at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Monday night, as the Bulldogs look to win their first national title since 1980.
The weather was Atlanta gloomy, as expected, but the roof over the stadium will keep the game dry.
All eyes across Georgia and Alabama are on their teams to see who would raise the championship trophy. President Donald Trump also in attendance to see the Dawgs and Tide, Monday night.
The Bulldogs are seeking their first national title since Herschel Walker led Vince Dooley's 1980 team to a 12-0 record and a 17-10 win over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
Nick Saban is chasing his fifth national championship since 2009 and has the Crimson Tide in the title game for the third straight year. Saban is one away from tying former Alabama coach Bear Bryant's record six major poll national championships.
