Wings and Wildlife Festival soars high
More than 350 people showed up throughout the day for the first Wings and Wildlife Festival at the Flint RiverQuarium. Events went on all day, from alligator feedings to a "Birds of Prey" show. The RiverQuarium even hosted a guided canoe tour along the river.
Plenty of activities were available to the kids. Parents say a favorite among the children was a bird house construction station.
Thronateeska Heritage Center also participated in the festival, inviting guests to a planetarium show and to listen to professional story tellers.
Event coordinators say they hope people took away an appreciation for Southwest Georgia wildlife.
