      Willson Hospice gets Audubon certification

      The hospice became the first healthcare facility in the world to get Audubon certification.

      Phoebe Putney's Willson Hospice announced a special recognition today.

      The hospice became the first healthcare facility in the world to get Audubon certification.

      Audubon International is an environmental education organization that awards properties that show a commitment to sustainable environment.

      Officials say the recognition will help preserve the natural surroundings of the hospice.

      "It will help us protect this environment and make it a place of peace and serenity for our patients and families for years to come," said Willson Hospice Director Patty Woodall

      The Willson Hospice is surrounded by Lopez Trail where many types of birds, deer and other wildlife live.
