Friday afternoon Municipal Court Judge Willie Weaver turned himself in to the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office along side attorney Johnnie Graham.
The charges stem from a domestic complaint filed by Weaver's wife. The Albany Judge has been under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation since last weekend's incident where his wife was treated for superficial injuries.
District Attorney Greg Edwards says he will recuse himself from the case.
Weaver was released on $10,000 bond and his employment status will remain intact with the city until proven guilty.
