Willard Avenue homicide reward now at $5,000
The reward for information leading to an arrest in the Willard Avenue homicide is now $5,000, thanks to a $2,500 donation by the city of Albany.
The homicide took place on March 17th in the 500 block of Willard Ave. Police say 20-year-olds William Davis Jr. and Desmond Williams were standing outside of their vehicle when they were gunned down in a drive by shooting.
"Detectives are working aggressively on this homicide, they're working around the clock they've gathered a lot of good information but we need that one vital piece of information that ties everything together," said Phyllis Banks, the APD Public Information Officers.
The only other time an Albany Crime Stoppers reward reached $5,000 dollars was in an officer involved shooting.
"In that particular case the money helped out tremendously, within a matter of days we were able to make several arrests regarding that shooting incident," said Banks.
If you have information on the shooting call Crime Stoppers at (229)436-TIPS.
