State Representative Sanford Bishop is joining other congressmen in an effort to keep Saturday mail going.
The House Appropriations Committee passed an amendment adding it to the funding bill for 2015.
Earlier this year, USPS announced a plan to end Saturday mail.
People with abnormal work schedules aren't the only ones who will be affected but Congressman Bishop says seniors and veterans will also have a hard time, especially those in rural areas.
"Please adopt this amendment. Continue six day delivery so that our veterans will at least have access to their medications," said Congressman Sanford Bishop, D (GA-02).
More than half the House is backing six day mail delivery.
