Two local kids are the winners of the "What Home Means to Me" poster contest.
The awards were given to kids who live in the Public Housing Authority in Dougherty County.
Officials say having kids involved in the community benefits them in the long run.
Dan McCarthy with the Albany Housing Authority says, "if we can keep them engaged in positive activities we will see them do better in school, do appropriate things for the neighborhood and not be involved in negative activities."
The two winners go to the regional and national competition.
