      WG&L competes investigative dig

"We've been talking about this for a year now, or more, and $750.000 was the figure we were looking at," said Keith Goodin, WG&L Assistant GM of Operations. / Sean Streicher

Water Gas and Light has just completed an investigative dig on the Society Avenue gas plant.

The dig gave officials more information on what is in the ground around the site.

They were also able to remove a lot of the product, from the gas plant, that as seeped into the ground and narrow down where remaining product might be.

The project cost around $620,000 which is less than original estimates.

"We've been talking about this for a year now, or more, and $750.000 was the figure we were looking at," said Keith Goodin, WG&L Assistant GM of Operations.

The data from this dig will now be sent to the environmental protection division, and they will advise water gas and light on what the next step is.
