The West Haven Senior Village, in Tifton, is submitting an $8 million proposal to expand their housing by 40 units.

The West Haven developing team is submitting a proposal to the Department of Community Affairs for Tax Credit Development toward this project.

Mandy Young with the West Haven development team says they have the city and county's support on the project.

She adds the housing has been occupied 98 percent during the year and these additions will make sure there is adequate housing for senior citizens.

Tax Credit Development is money left over from state allocations. Every year a project can submit for these funds. The application process starts in June and West Haven will find out if they were approved or not by November.
