Last weekend's events brought a lot of foot traffic to Downtown Albany.
Mon, 29 Apr 2013 20:19:30 GMT — With all of the events that happened in Albany over the weekend, some people may be wondering if the local economy saw a boost. While events like the March of Dimes and the Color run may not attract the overnight visitors, it does increase foot traffic around downtown Albany. Local store owners say events like these offer a great opportunity to get their name out there."We heard it many times this weekend, oh I didn't know you were here, so it works great for us because they get introduced to us and gives them a reason to come back downtown and check us back out," said Jason Warren the owner of Our Daily Bread.Warren says when events are planned in the downtown area he needs to put on more employees to help with the rush.Stay connected to MySouthWestGA.com as stories develop and the FOX 31 Newscast at 10 PM.
