Damage and power outages lead to Wednesday school closures

As a result of damage and power outages Tropical Storm Irma, multiple schools and high education facilities have made the decision to close down again for Wednesday.

- Berrien County schools will be closed Wednesday.

- Ben Hill County schools will be closed Wednesday.

- Colquitt County schools will be closed Wednesday with a decision on Thursday still to be determined.

- Crisp Academy will be closed Wednesday due to a lack a lack of water, but the JV Softball Home Game will be played weather permitting.

- Mitchell County schools will be closed Wednesday to students, but faculty and staff will report. Baconton Charter will be closed to staff and students.


- Worth County Schools will remain closed on Wednesday for all students and selected staff. Twelve-month staff will report to work at 8:30 am. The work day will be from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. If for some reason, those persons are not able to report to work, they should contact Mrs. Oliver at the BOE Offices between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
