Wednesday morning commute slowed by East Albany accident

UPDATE (8:30 AM):
Georgia State Patrol confirms that an Albany Police Department cruiser, containing a female officer, and an 18-wheel, gasoline tanker were traveling East on Oglethorpe Blvd. Wednesday morning.
The APD cruiser was in the left lane and the gasoline tanker was in the right lane.
The APD officer sped around the tanker to pull over a Nissan for failure to yield and was t-boned by the gasoline tanker on the passenger side. The door was crushed to the center console. The cruiser jumped the barrier and hit the Nissan on Radium Springs Road.
No serious injuries were reported but both the female officer and truck driver were brought to the hospital as a precaution. The driver of the Nissan complained of injuries but refused treatment.
An accident involving a semi-truck and an Albany Police Department patrol car took place Wednesday morning at the intersection of Radium Springs and Oglethorpe Boulevard.
No word on the condition of the semi-truck driver or officer. FOX 31 is headed to the scene to get more details.
