In our Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know why Water, Gas, and Light customers are seeing an electric rate increase and what about water.

On March 1st, electric rates will be going up by 10 percent which translates to about an increase of ten dollars a months.

We found out exactly why customers will see an increase in price because of electricity.

"MEAC, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia who we buy our power through from Georgia Power has raised up 16 million dollars in the last two years," said Lori Farkas, Water Gas and Light Commission.

For now water rates with the utility company are expected to remain the same.
