Water, Gas and Light held a meeting Wednesday morning to discuss money made and spent in 2013.
WGL made a total of $112 million in utility revenue. Of that money, WGL has approximately $8 million of unrestricted funds to spend on whatever the company wants.
Interim WGL President Tom Berry says the $8 million will serve as emergency funds for the company.
Additionally, electric utilities made an additional $238,000 from selling extra capacity for the month in January.
WGL says they may use these extra funds to reinsulate the building, in order to make the temperature more comfortable for.
The use of the extra funds will be discussed in the next board meeting.
