Water, Gas & Light falling behind

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard told FOX 31 they are below budget and it will be next to impossible to get back on track before the end of the year. / Courtney Highfield

The Water, Gas & Light board held a meeting Thursday morning and received some dissapointing news in terms of their financial report.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard told FOX 31 they are below budget and it will be next to impossible to get back on track before the end of the year. Hubbard says the mild weather we've had in Albany is mostly to blame. Although they are hurting for money a little, Hubbard doesn't foresee them raising the rates.

Also during the meeting they heard a presentation from the engineering department. This is something new the board has started; every meeting they hear from a different department that works for Water, Gas & Light.
