Drug trafficking has become a problem in Warwick along Highway 300.

Over the past two months, 10 to 12 drug arrests have been made and $15,000 has been seized by the Warwick Police Department Drug Unit.

Lt. John Mucci, Drug Commander, tells FOX 31 that majority of the offenders are from out of town.

Mucci also says that Warwick Police Department is "taking a strong stand on the issue. We are completely self-contained and self-serving department that can handle a large drug trafficking case, an investigation case or even a criminal case."

He adds that if people are coming through this town doing things they aren't supposed to, they will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
