The Warwick Police Department honored a fallen officer Saturday afternoon.

Sasha, the Police K-9, was honored with a memorial service in front of the Warwick Police Station. Many officers from the Warwick Police Department came to honor her presence. Residents of the Warwick community and newly elected Mayor Juanita Kinchen came out to speak.

Sasha passed away in September 2012. The Chief of WPD, David Morris, said WPD waited until now to give her the memorial she deserves.

During her time with the WPD Chief Morris says Sasha was responsible for the apprehension of numerous drug offenders.

Sasha was with the WPD for two years.
