On Saturday, The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia hosted their first annual Walk to Remember and Carnival of Hope.

The walk was one mile long and celebrated the culmination of the Coalition's Cancer STOMP fundraising campaign.

The walk featured opportunities for participants to remember or honor loved ones with cancer by holding signs and wearing ribbons.

Diane Fletcher, CEO of The Cancer Coalition says, it's better to have a reflective walk that honors individuals that were touched by cancer."

The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia exists to prevent cancer and increase survival among the people of South Georgia through community-based services, education, research, and outreach.

100 percent of all funds and services from Saturday's event will remain in their 32 county region.
