Members and volunteers from around the community came out to the annual March of Dimes walk Saturday morning.
March of Dimes is a nonprofit organizations that raises funds to help premature babies. Statistics show 1 in 8 babies are born too soon. Officials with the organization say babies who survive an early birth often face the risk of lifetime health challenges including cerebal palsy, intellectual disabilities, chronic lung disease, blindness, and hearing loss.
Organizers say they don't have a set amount of money they plan or hope to raise because every little bit helps.
