Dialogue concerning the downtown Albany Post Office continues as local officials try to reclassify the Griggs Building site as a 'Village Post Office'.
Dougherty County Commission Chair Jeff Sinyard says officials should have a decision within the next 60 days.
If the Griggs Building, located at 345 W. Broad Avenue, is designated as a village post office, it would keep the post office open and allow it to serve other purposes.
Local and state leaders are in talks with U.S. Postal Service officials to consider this option.
