Victims notified of attackers parole?

Dougherty County Jail. / Jessica Fairley

A man fresh out on parole is now facing charges after stabbing his ex-girlfriend.

This man Efran Hawkins is accused of breaking into her home and attacking her.

He was caught yesterday.

The suspect was recently released from jail after serving time for stalking the victim.

We asked the Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards if victims are notified when their attacker get out of jail. He told us the law for victims' rights apply statewide and victims should be notified of all requests for bonds made by a defendant.
