The family of two crash victims has given FOX 31 permission to report that Sunday afternoon around 3:30 PM Matthew Horton and Kelly Prescott were laid to rest in Willacoochie.

The funeral service for the crash victims was held at the Abundant Life Church in Nashville.

Horton and Prescott passed away Tuesday morning after being hit by a truck driven by Israel Rutland. Rutland was on the run from police when he struck a vehicle carrying siblings Matthew Horton, Kelly Prescott and Heidi Muncil.

Darrell Horton, the father of the victims, says "these types of high speed chases must stop. They shouldn't come to a stop when there's dead bodies laying beside the road. They should come to a stop before then."
