Former servicemen and women across Albany celebrated Veterans Day with a breakfast at the American Legion Post 30 on Gillionville Road.
The breakfast, followed by a ceremony, allowed vets of all ages and service branches to come together and celebrate a day dedicated to their sacrifice and commitment to freedom.
The breakfast preceded the unveiling of a new World War II memorial in Veteran's Park. The memorial will be the newest of several memorials dedicated to veterans around Albany. T
here are already memorials celebrating vets from World War I and Vietnam and plans are under way to construct a memorial for Korean War veterans as well.
That is set to be unveiled sometime in the next year.
