Valdosta police officers were involved in a short foot chase over the weekend.
35-year-old Kareme Kier was arrested and charged with obstruction of a police officer, prowling, and possession of tools during the commission of a crime.
Just before 5 a.m. Friday, officers saw Kier crouch behind a vehicle in the 300 block of East Gordon Street. When officers got closer, Kier ran off.
Detectives continued a further investigation based on evidence and property collected by the officers and were able to obtain arrest warrants on Kier for motor vehicle theft and three counts of theft by entering auto.
