A drug investigation based on numerous complaints in a Valdosta neighborhood has led to an arrest after a man failed to stop for narcotics officers.
According to officials with the Valdosta Police Department, Raymond Battle was in a white Chrysler Sebring and would not stop for officers during the investigation on North Troup Street.
It was later discovered that Battle drove through the front yard of a residence on Ponderosa Drive and damaged a fence.
Battle fled from the vehicle and ran north through a drainage ditch and onto train tracks, later being apprehended in a marshy area nearby according to detectives.
Battle has been charged with violation of probation, four counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain lane and interference with an officer.
