Tift County Sheriffs officials have picked up a second suspect believed to have been involved in an armed robbery and neighborhood shooting that led US Marshals to hunt and capture Shorofsky Horton and Matanya Miller near Tift Regional Medical Center.
Sheriff's officials say 29-year-old LaCharles Miller and Shorofsky Horton are accused of robbing a store on April 26 and shooting into several businesses and homes.
LaCharles Miller was arrested Monday night in connection to the crimes.
The armed robbery and aggravated assault that occurred on April 26 is what sent Tift Sheriff Deputies and US Marshals on the hunt for LaCharles Miller and Shorofsky Horton. Horton was arrested after a shootout near Tift Regional Medical Center on Friday.
Shorofsky Horton was taken into custody along with Matanya Miller, who was in the car with him when law enforcement officials spotted him near the hospital.
As law enforcement attempted to arrest Horton, Matanya Miller attempted to drive away from the scene. She hit two US Marshals as she drove away. The woman came to a stop after officials fired shots into her car.
Both US Marshals suffered minor injuries, while Matanya Miller was treated and released from the hospital.
LaCharles Miller and Shorofsky Horton are charged with armed robbery and 2 counts of aggravated assault. Matanya Miller is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
