Forecast snow accumulations of one-half inch to one inch could lead to slick roads. / NWS

Due to expected winter weather, a Winter Weather Advisory and Wind Chill Advisory has been issued until 1 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in South Georgia: Randolph, Terrell, Lee, Calhoun, Miller, Dougherty, Decatur, Seminole, Early, Baker, Mitchell, Colquitt, Worth, Turner, Crisp, Tift, Ben Hill and Irwin County. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Berrien County until Wednesday at 1 p.m. as well.

The combination of sub-freezing temperatures and a strong upper level trough approaching our area will result in a chance of light snow across Southwest Georgia. Wind chills below 20 degrees are also possible.

Overnight winter weather will spreading into the area through Wednesday morning. Peak impacts will be between 2 and 10 a.m. and will end by early afternoon on Wednesday. Snow accumulations are currently expected to be minor, with one-half to one inch in South Georgia counties west of the Flint River. A dusting is expected for neighborhoods between the Flint River and Interstate 75.

Forecast snow accumulations of one-half inch to one inch could lead to slick roads. Wind chills below 20 could also be hazardous to people outdoors for extended periods of time.
