Unmarked addresses confuse firefighters

Unmarked street addresses are causing safety concerns in Worth County.

In Thursday's Worth County Board of Commissioners meeting, fire officials talked about the lack of address plaques in front of homes.

When firemen or EMS are dispatched out, they can't find the correct location and this creates a safety issue.

"They made the motion tonight to put the fire department in charge of making sure that the reflector signs are out by all the homes. They passed that and we got a workshop coming up March fourth for them to talk about some more issues," said Capt. Ray Salter, Worth County Fire Department.

Commissioners plan to review the old ordinance to see exactly what laws are to be enforced.
