Uniform requirement to remain at Tift primary schools in 2018-2019
School resource officers will be new to Tift County primary schools next school year, but what won't be new is how students will look.
Tift County Schools recently decided to keep the primary schools' uniform requirement for next year.
The uniform code will mostly stay the same, with the only addition that gray bottoms will now be allowed.
The school district said they believe the uniforms were a success in their first year.
"We saw behavior get much better in our elementary schools, so it was a really good move, and it seems like people found a way to make the uniforms their own, expression through different shoes and bows and accessories," Director of Communications Stacey Beckham said.
Beckham said the school district discussed extending the uniform requirement to the middle and high schools next year, but they decided to leave them without a requirement.
