Fires have destroyed two homes in two days in Worth County. The latest fire claimed a Worth family's home Monday morning. This was just after a home at Orchard Hills Estates burned Saturday, according to

The morning structure fire may have been due to an unattended space heater, Worth County Fire/Rescue Captain John Graddy said.

WCFR, EMS and Worth County deputies arrived to the Drayton Lane residence just before 9 a.m. Monday in response to a doublewide mobile home structure fire.

Capt. Graddy said no one was home at the time of the fire. The family was returning home from Sylvester when they noticed smoke in the distance which appeared to be in the Poulan area. As they approached their neighborhood, they quickly learned it was their own home. The home was a complete loss.

Red Cross is assisting the family with their immediate needs.
