Albany police say they will be charging 41-year-old Jeremy Wilson with reckless conduct.
Investigators say that after completing interviews, they deteremined that Wilson was attempting to clear his weapon inside the business. The gun then discharged, striking Wilson in the hand and Lucas in the right side of his abdomen.
First Update (4:30 PM)
Officials with the Albany Police Department say that no charges have been filed against the owner of the pistol after two men were shot earlier this morning.
Police say the owner of the weapon was a subcontractor that serviced equipment for the lab. He has been released from the hospital.
Investigators add that the other shooting victim, 63-year-old Claude Scott Lucas, remains in the hospital after undergoing surgery.
Police have not released how the men were shot at this time and the case remains under investigation.
Albany police are investigating after two co-workers were shot Wednesday morning at the Albany Area Laboratory on East Broad Avenue.
Police officials say that a gun has been recovered.
Both of the workers have been transported to area hospitals.
Police say they are gathering information from witnesses and are continuing to investigate.
