The Dougherty County School System's rezoning meetings continued at Turner Elementary School on Tuesday evening.
School officials say Turner's population will remain the same with the change, but new parents will now be able to take advantage of Turner's exclusive programs, such as the free after-school and summer clubs.
"It gives the children something to do during the school year at least until 6 o' clock and during the summer from 7:30 to 5:30. They have three full meals and a snack, academics and enrichment," said Turner Elementary School President Gail Solomon.
The school also received a grant that allows them to have both a nurse and doctor on staff every day, which officials say allows parents to utilize them to ensure their child's health.
