Truck accident slows traffic on Sylvester Road

Truck hits power lines

A little after 1:00 p.m. in the 2800 block of Sylvester Road a semi-truck cause a short power outage after attempting to make a u-turn.

When Taft Miles, 45, of Florence, Alabama, tried to turn the vehicle around, his empty trailer caught some low hanging power lines and brought them down. A utility pole snapped and the truck tilted to the side.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and no charges will be filed against him.

Power has been restored to the area and traffic is expected to return to normal around 5:00 p.m.
