Troopers add hundreds more donations to Toys for Tots collection
Toys for Tots now has more than 800 new toys to add to its total this year thanks to local troopers.
Georgia State Patrol Post 40 in Albany delivered its annual Toys for Tots donation on Friday.
This year, they partnered up with Another Level Motorcycle Club, Quality Wrecker and Master Body Works, along with the community, and together, they donated 845 toys and 28 bikes.
Sgt. John Vanlandingham of GSP said they've enjoyed making this an annual tradition.
"When we can bring them a bicycle or a basketball when they don't have anything under the tree, it's going to have them having a great Christmas," he said.
"It's always great giving back to the community," added Chanita Salyer of Another Level Motorcycle Club. "You never know who's less fortunate than you are, so any little thing that you can do to make somebody's life a little bit better, you try to do it and help them out a little bit."
