Folks around the area spent New Year's Eve celebrating at local bars and parties.

According to Georgia State Patrol, only a hand full of people were pulled over for drunk driving.

They report on four DUI's in Albany.

They say during this time many people are home for the holidays, they drink and forget to find a driver.

"The main thing is don't drink and drive during the holidays because we want the people or should I say the citizens to have a good time to be able to enjoy the rest of the year," said Cp. Andrew McKenzie, Georgia State Patrol.

Corporal McKenzie says before going out it's best to have a plan of how you will get home.
