After the recent death of a toddler who was struck by a vehicle, educators say parents should make a plan with children on how to deal with cars and traffic.
Lee County Pre-K teachers say they never allow children to walk alone to a vehicle.
Children are also warned to never go behind a car, whether it's moving or not, because a driver could enter the car and not know a child is behind it.
"Just try to go ahead and have some rules set into place to stay close to an adult always when going through a parking lot and never run through a parking lot," said Tara Bass, Lee County Pre-K Teacher.
Officials say parents should have these talks early to prevent any future injuries.
