Security personnel at a Moultrie Hospital had to rescue a sweating 3-year-old girl from a hot van Tuesday while her mother was giving birth.

Carmen Pacina, the grandmother, and Sheila Clements were arrested and charged with reckless conduct. Colquitt Regional Medical Center security officers used wire to unlock the vehicle.

It's estimated that the child was in the van for about 30 minutes, according to police reports from Moultrie Police Department.

There were also reports Tuesday of three children left in a car at the New Elm voting precinct, according to a report from the Moultrie Observer.
