Tips to prevent a window of opportunity

Since January, we've told you about 58 car break-in cases, six of which are being investigated right now in Dougherty County.

Police still stress locking your doors and removing valuables left inside.

Over the weekend we told you about six vehicles that were broken into at local Albany restaurants.

All of the victims were either eating at or employees at those restaurants.

The Albany Police Department say they still don't have any witnesses or suspects and the case remains under investigation tonight.

Due to the break-ins, we hit the streets Monday to see why some people still leave their vehicle doors open.

Residents in Albany say that possibly, "the mentality that some people have is just that, if you lock them, they'll just break the window but if the door is left unlocked, they're just gonna take it regardless."

If you know anything about these crimes, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
