Tips for keeping kids with allergies safe during the holidays
This time of year, holiday parties can be filled with all kinds of treats.
It can be an annoying time for parents of kids with allergies. Family Medicine Doctor Monisola Sanusi says your child should avoid whatever food they're allergic to.
Doctor Sanaui suggests that parents always read labels too. She recommends tell your child if someone offers them some sort of food allergy, encourage them to ask the right questions. She says," For instance, if someone gives you something like cookies you should ask is there eggs in there? Is there gluten in this? If you're allergic to gluten and so on."
The doctor stated the most common food allergies are eggs, shellfish and peanuts.
