Tifton drivers are seeing a recent change to their roadways.
The Tifton Gazette reports that routes around Rainwater, Thornhill, Davis and Carpenter roads and Moore highway will now be marked with a "shared lane."
Markings will include a bicycle with two arrows above it, alerting drivers that there may be a cyclist sharing the roadway with them.
Funding for the project has been provided through the, Georgia Bikes grant, awarded to the Tiftarea Greenway Association earlier this year.
Officials say the newly lined roadways are meant to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians, and also encourage them to get out and start exercising.
