Tifton organization aims to complete the streets
TIFTON, Ga. —
The Tift Area Greenways Association hosted an information session for the community on ‘Complete Streets'.
'Complete Streets' means streets will be safe for pedestrians, cyclist, and car drivers.
There aren’t many 'Complete Streets' in town, and organizers want to see that change.
They’re planning on adding more bike lanes, sidewalks, properly marked cross walks and more.
According to executives, everyone can benefit from having a complete streets.
“We can get back to our healthy lifestyle, so we can combat disease or obesity, mental health issues, just the general well-being,” Sharon Petzel, Tift Area greenways association, said.
The information presentation was done by a Southern Georgia Regional Commission planner.
