Tifton getting ready to celebrate 21st Annual La Fiesta del Pueblo
Southwest Georgia will have the chance to learn more about Hispanic culture.
The 21st Annual La Fiesta del Pueblo is Saturday, September 30, at the Fulwood Park in Tifton. This festival is one of the largest Hispanic festivals in Georgia.
There will be cultural food, various artist performing, a street dance parade, kid activities and more.
More than 12,500 people attended the event last year, and organizers expect to beat that number this year.
According to the organizers, this is a great opportunity for people to see a different kind of tradition.
“The purpose of the festival is for us, as Latinos, to keep our traditions and to also share to people who are not Latinos, so they can what our culture is about,” Angel Aguilar, organizer, said.
One of the founders of the festival, Luz Marti, died earlier this year, and she will be honored at the event by Tifton Mayor Julie Smith.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Fulwood Park is located at 817 Prince Ave. Tifton, Ga.
