Tift Head Start celebrates Black History month with plays and poems

Classes perform plays and poems before classmates, teachers and parents.

The Tift Head Start Center in Albany held a Black History Month program Thursday morning entitled A Journey Through Black History Through the Eyes of a Child.Children, ages of three to five, participated in this program.Each class either sang a song, put on a play, or read a poem that related to black history.For the event, one class decided to designate each student to play a certain official in Albany; one child even portrayed FOX 31 TMs own Romney Smith.Juanita Carr, with the Head Start Center, said it TMs important for children, even at a young age, to learn about their history and heritage.Stay connected to as stories develop and the FOX 31 Newscast at 10 PM.
