Thronateeska honors veterans & announces new history presentation

In appreciation of the military, Thronateeska Heritage Center is invitng members of the military to the Wetherbee Planetarium to see a show for free this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All active and retired military personnel with ID are welcome to see a show in the Wetherbee Planetarium during our regular museum hours this week for no admission charge all day.

On, Saturday, November 12, Thronateeska will be hosting a special historical presentation entitled "The History of Turner Field," by Brad Rutherford. The presentations will take the place of two of our regular planetarium shows at 11:30 am and 1:00 pm. Rutherford will be sharing the origins of Turner Field and its role in World War II, what part it played in the Korean and Vietnam wars, and also about its later Navy period.

With the exception of "The History of Turner Field" presentations on November 12, regular planetarium programming will continue according to schedule. Museum and planetarium hours are from 10:00am-4:00pm Thursday-Saturday. Regular planetarium show admission is $3.50+tax for persons 3 years of age and older. Thronateeksa members and Darton College students are admitted free with appropriate ID. Planetarium show ticket reservations are not required and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Annual memberships are available.
