Three car accident near Albany airport involves school bus

Albany police officials have released the names of the third vehicle occupants: 29-year-old Twana Daniels, 7-year-old Aamya Daniels, and 9-year-old Jack Daniels.

Dougherty County Public Information Officer R.D. Harter says that there were eight students on the bus and two with a parent in the third vehicle.

Harter added that doctors checked the children and injuries were bruises suffered as a result of the accident.


Initial Story
There has been an accident near the airport on Newton Road involving a school bus, a semi-truck, and another vehicle.

Albany police say that the Dougherty County School bus was hit in rear by the semi-truck, which caused the bus to run into a utility pole.

Official say that 10 to 12 children were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, just as a precaution.

The driver of the semi was ok and not taken to hospital.

The driver of car was taken to hospital, but word of their condition is unknown.

Albany Fire Department, EMS, APD, WG&L, and Airport Department of Transportation officials are on scene.
