Thousands of dollars awarded to local school
Sun, 28 Jul 2013 22:25:29 GMT — A local school gets a huge award from a former first lady. Cox Elementary School in Moultrie was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for American Libraries. Cox Elementary was among 212 school libraries being awarded this year. The grant will allow the school to update and diversify their library book collections. The grants are funded through generous donations to the endowment from individuals, corporations and foundations.
Since 2002, The Laura Bush Foundation has awarded more than $10.5 million to schools in all 50 states.
