Theatre Albany finished their first weekend of The Dixie Swim Club with a matinee showing Sunday afternoon.
The actresses suited up for the fourth of eight shows that center around a group of women who were on the high school swim team and meet on the outer banks of North Carolina over the span of 33 years.
The theatre says live shows are a great way to engage the audience, something that isn't possible in front of a movie screen.
"They build off that energy, it really is a give and take and that's the wonderful thing about live theatre. There's nothing like it. You really don't get that in films, film it just goes and it doesn't take into consideration the audience's feelings," said Artistic Director, Mark Costello.
Costello hopes word of mouth will travel after the first week and will cause a bigger turnout next weekend.
