According to the United States Department of Labor, U.S. employers added 157,000 jobs in January. But how is the job search going for those who live here in Southwest Georgia?

Fox 31 spoke with several job seekers at the Career Center in Albany who agreed, finding a job is harder than they thought. The length of their job searches were anywhere from two months to two years.

Catherine Hogg, the Career Center Unit Supervisor, said although finding a job may be difficult, it isn't impossible, and there are plenty of local job openings. Hogg advises seekers to visit the Georgia Department of Labor website,, and use the resources listed about searching for jobs, filing an unemployment claim, and where to go if you're looking to build your skills or continue your education.
