It's Friday the 13th, which means people are typically on their guard today more than usual.

Some of the common superstitions people believe in are getting years of bad luck if you walk under a ladder, break a mirror, or have a black cat cross your path.

FOX 31 spoke to several people today about what they believe in. One woman said she thinks its bad luck if a black cat is following a pregnant woman. Another woman said she believes that if you break glass you get seven years of bad luck.

There were also a few people who said they don't believe in superstitions. One man said he thinks people overreact when the 13th of a month falls on a Friday; he told FOX 31 "what happens, happens, and that's it."
